I teach AP Environmental Science and Aquatic Science in Houston, Texas. I have integrated several agricultural project based lessons over my 6 years of teaching and successfully maintained classroom aquariums as part of my aquatics curriculum. So, combining my agriculture units in APES with my aquatic systems seemed like a natural fit. This year I decided to take it to the next level and Project Feed 1010 has been instrumental in my research and planning! Writing a grant was intimidating to me at first, but I was able to read some of the testimonials here and access the system design plans which made the budgetary component a breeze! I discovered PF1010 through our APES social media network a few years ago and have been so impressed with the collaboration and outreach available! I am very excited to get my systems up and running in the Fall of 2017…look for updates from my students soon!
